Death of a Day by KMG

It all happened

in the wee hours,

past midnight

or even earlier…

who knows?

thick dark it was,

and me  fast asleep.

the day raged…,

the light dazzled…

that much I know.

it all collapsed in the eventide

or it seems so at least.

I was not there

to recount the rest,

I go to bed very early.

très  fatiguee’ as my

English landlady used  to say.

(she had been to Paris for a day or two in all her life)

I am only tired,

very tired , I mean.

Eyes closed

one knows no more,

yet one knows best within…

the Innernet illumined,

without the sun and moon

and all the starry sky above.
